Jeanneau 1,2 & 3

by Boat Sales Tasmania

It was all Jeanneau in the Boat Sales Tasmania pre-Christmas twilight race held at the Derwent Sailing Squadron last Thursday evening.

Rob Watchorn's Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 409 Affinity shone in the consistent 16 knot breeze to take line honours by almost three minutes and claim the 'outright' with a win on performance handicap as well.

Second place on Performance went to Paul Dutton on his Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 40 Sagres who sailed a solid race with only two on board. John Williams on the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 36i Enchante took out third place after surviving several near misses while rounding the top mark.

Enchante very nearly tangled rigs as another boat attempted to 'shoot the mark' on the first top make rounding. Next time around she was put about by a boat on port and very nearly pushed up into the boat above but the skipper kept his cool (after a bit of venting!) and was able to avoid contact. There were no protests but many apologies were made!

The pre-Christmas series finishes next Thursday evening with Enchante sitting in third overall.
