The US built Catalina 34 Mk 1 has established an enviable reputation as a fast, stiff, and sturdily built cruising yacht. There have been over 1400 boats built to the Catalina 34 Mk 1 design and many have made long offshore passages.
Catalina 34s have an impressively roomy cockpit and spacious decks, great for entertaining. Down below you will find a very spacious interior with 6ft 4” headroom and up to 7 berths with a forward double V Berth and an enormous private queen sized berth under the cockpit. The table in the saloon can also lower to form a third double berth if required. There is a practical galley with gas stove and oven plus a microwave oven and a fridge and there’s lots of storage space. The fully enclosed toilet compartment has a hot& cold shower and wash basin and there’s another shower at the transom. She even has reverse cycle air conditioning to ensure cabin comfort in any weather.
This 1986 model has wheel steering, an autopilot, VHF radio, GPS and a good wardrobe of sails including a furling genoa and a cruising spinnaker with sock. Safety gear includes a Beaufort 6 person life raft (not in service) and there’s also a 10ft inflatable dinghy with 6hp Suzuki outboard.
Roomy, easy to sail and equipped with the comforts, this is a well priced family cruising yacht you should consider.
