The Beneteau First 34.5 is one of those delightfull mixes of a refined sailing yacht married to a comfortable coastal cruising boat. Joie de Vie is an excellent example of the marque and has been lovingly well maintained by just two owners to date.
She is roomy and well appointed below with a 2 double cabin layout ,and 2 settee berths in the main cabin providing accommodation for 6. There is a good gally layout with a gas 2 burner+ oven stove, double sinks, hot/cold pressure water supply, and top loading fridge. In the saloon area there is a large double leaf folding table , lots of stowage, and a well equipped forward facing navigation station including B & G sailing instruments, VHF radio, and a 1/2 admiralty chart size table, (sadly missing on many new vessels below 15mtrs.)
On deck she is a highly functional cruiser/racer with furling headsail, slab reefing mainsail with lazyjacks and boombag, a well layed out comfortable cockpit with tiller steering, including autopilot, self tailing winches ,mainsheet traveller, backstay adjuster, and a dodger to protect you from the weather. A great layout for short handed sailing. She has a good wardrobe of sails too. Her standing rigging was replaced in 2004 and the forestay in 2007 there is a recent rig and survey reoprt on the boat.
She is powered by a Volvo 3 cyl 29 Hp diesel fitted in 2003, with a 3 blade Autostream feathering propeller the engine has been regularly serviced (Last service in 2016).
Overall she represents an excellent choice for a little cruising mixed with weekly twilight club racing, or short handed extended cruising.
