Nauticat 44’ is a pilothouse cruising ketch built to exacting standards by Siltala Yachts of Finland. Nauticat is the world´s leading traditional motor sailer and pilot-house sailing yachts specialist and their yachts are superb combinations of tradition and craftsmanship. This Nauticat 44 was first launched in 1997 on the Great Lakes, USA, where she was lightly sailed and always wintered under cover until 2010. Then shipped to Seattle, she was completely refitted and equipped for serious blue water cruising. Following an extended cruise through the San Juan Islands she sailed to Hawaii and down through the Pacific Islands to her new home in Australia.
Her extensive 2010 refit saw a huge list of equipment fitted to prepare her for offshore adventures. Superbly appointed in satin finished teak, she has a huge interior with a forward double berth cabin, a twin berth cabin serviced by an enclosed forward toilet and shower and a huge aft cabin with island double bed and an ensuite toilet with a separate shower compartment. The galley features fridge and freezer plus a 2010 Force 10 three burner gas stove with oven. The roomy dinette opposite the galley seats up to 6 and there is plenty of storage. Quality soft furnishings enhance the ambience of the teak interior.
The raised pilothouse saloon offers panoramic all-round views and can have the cabin roof opened via a large sliding hatch. The internal helm station with full electronics displays at hand affords all weather protection while a large dinette seats up to 8. Lifting floor panels provide excellent access to the spacious engine compartment with its 127 HP Yanmar diesel engine, air conditioning unit, Panda 240V generator, hot water unit and power management systems. The external aft helm station with plenty of seating provides for enjoyable helming in fine weather .
There is vast storage throughout this boat making her ideal for passage making. The Galley and lower dinette area plus the raised pilothouse saloon enjoy ducted reverse cycle air conditioning. There is excellent lighting and ventilation in all areas of the yacht.
