Lyle Hess pilot cutter, lovingly crafted by traditional shipwrights of rare and unique Tasmanian timbers at the fabled Wooden Boat School at Franklin on the Huon River.
Launched late 2002 in 2C & 2D survey (she could go back in if required) she was closely inspected, photographed and documented throughout construction.
Bluegum keel, Celery Top and Huon Pine hull planking fastened with roved copper nails, cast bronze hull floors, laid teak decks and huon pine superstructure will delight the true timber yacht enthusiast. With classic cream dacron sails, she is a pretty sight.
The 3GM Yanmar diesel provides ample engine power. There is plenty of light and space below decks where her well equipped galley and comfortable berths for 6 ensure a homely feel surrounded by traditional white gloss painted and clear finished timbers.
The sailing qualities of Lyle Hess designs are legendary and this yacht is no exception with a nice turn of speed and proven sea kindliness.
