This Botin & Carkeek pre-preg GP42 was used in the warm up regatta to the TP52 Med Cup in 2007, and was purchased by the current owner in Spain in 2010, then imported to Australia.

Under guidance of Botin Partners, the boat was optimised for IRC including prodder, titanium wheels, nav station in cockpit, and a new and heavier bulb.

Recent work includes Dulon treated the topsides, new boot top and signage, new sails, new raft, full gear service, fitted additional plotter, and antifoul (March 2014). It was then raced in the Brisbane to Gladstone to finish 28 minutes astern of the Kerr 51 Kerumba (which place 6th in 2013 S2H) and 2nd overall on ORCi and 3rd overall on IRC.

The boat has complete race wardrobe including a new Doyle A1.5 and Quantum J1 fitted in April 2013, plus Cat 2 Safeties including 10 man life raft, but excluding PFD’s, tethers, PLBs and med’s.

An out of water survey was completed in late February 2014 and the report can be supplied upon request, however the boat was rated as ‘above average’ for its age and model.

This is an ideal race boat for those owners looking for a lot more fun and excitement than their current displacement sailing boat, as you only need 10-11 crew but can now go about the same speed as an early model TP52!

Do yourself and your crew a favour and ditch the pole!
