This strong ‘Fleming’ Sharpie Style timber cruiser- with lovely lines, was built by Fred Fleming
at Norman Creek, Brisbane and launched in 1985. The layout is tri-cabin
with walk-around deck and dinghy on davits.
The hull is Sharpie style; thwartships planked with spotted gum
below the waterline, and with Oregon longitudinal planking topsides. The
lower keel is sheathed in copper, with a sacrificial hardwood timber
strip below. Deck and bridge deck are glassed over marine plywood. Large
beech hinged boarding platform on transom with rubber fender on edges
plus SS lifting and securing chains. Stainless hand-rails are fitted all
around the deck. Other than on the foredeck, rails have detachable
