‘Acrospire III’ is a superberbly maintained, delightful Gaff Topsail cutter. Designed by Charlie Peel and launched in 1923 , she has been immaculately restored by current owner.The restoration involved complete replacement of all ribs plus new keel floors and deck beams of Iroko / Tasmanian Celery top.
All fastenings and keel bolts were replaced. Exotic rigging and a huge sail wardrobe augment this fine vessel.
‘Acrospire III’ contested the 1928 Sayonara Cup also successfully competed on Port Phillip Bay in ‘A’ class for over a decade.
