This pretty 31’ timber cruising yacht was superbly built by her original owner in Melbourne in 1976 to UK designer Thomas Harrison-Butler’s ‘Sinah’ design. Beautifully proportioned, she is a classic double-ender of moderate beam, a sweeping sheer, full length keel and renowned THB sea kindliness. She was expertly constructed of Iroko and Queensland Beech edge nailed planks on Spotted Gum ribs, traditionally copper nailed and roved. Decks are laid Queensland Beech over epoxy dynel sheathed marine ply.
She features a well equipped galley with stove, sink and even a 12v fridge located under the large chart table. She sleeps five in generous berths, there’s a central drop side saloon table and a fully enclosed marine toilet with wash basin. Roomy, comfortable and with ample headroom throughout, the beautifully varnished Coachwood and Iroko interior exudes a warm ambience that will delight those who appreciate fine timber craftsmanship.
Her rig is easily managed and delivers good all round performance from her well balanced sail plan. Sails include a mainsail, furling genoa, furling jib, heavy weather jib, storm trisail, spinnaker plus an asymmetric cruising spinnaker. Her auxiliary engine is a Yanmar 3GM 30 28hp diesel driving a three blade propeller and providing the power to get you home in any weather.
Electronics include Log & Speedo, Depth Sounder and Fish Finder plus a GPS with plotter using C-Maps and a VHF radio with masthead aerial. Self steering is provided by an electronic tiller pilot or a Navik wind vane self-steering system. A manual anchor winch makes light work of anchoring.
Always maintained to a very high standard, this is a lovely looking yacht in every respect; definitely one to engender real pride of ownership. She is more than worthy of a place in the Hobart or Geelong Wooden Boat Festivals.
