Jeanneau Cup 2018/19 Race One

From our NSW dealer Lee Condell from Performance Boating Sales

Well done to all of those Jeanneau owners and their crew who participated in Saturdays first Jeanneau Cup Race of the season, a record entry of 15 yachts and a fantastic sight to have seven 349’s battling it out! It was also terrific to see some newcomers who haven’t participated previously, and we would also like to specifically mention Marco Tapia who sailed “Luna Fernando” down from Pittwater specifically for the event. What a shame the wind dropped out and many were effected by both a tanker and cruise ship, but none the less it was a great day out on the harbour.

For those of you that participated in the man overboard safety session provided free by Above & Beyond Boating we believe that it was very informative and worthwhile. We would of course like to thank Middle Harbour Yacht Club for hosting us yet again and making us feel so welcome.

The very nicely restored Jeanneau One-design 35 “Starstruck” skippered by Scott Lawson was the outright winner, so well done to Scott and the team, with Peter McClelland in the Sun Fast 37 “Macscap” 2nd and the first non-spinnaker yacht home, the Sun Fast 40 “Zeusus” 3rd. The only other yacht home within the time-limit was Kim Dalton and the crew on the Sun Odyssey 36i “Aurora II”, while the first of the fleet of Sun Odyssey 349’s “Eau Well” was just 2 minutes beyond the time-limit having had to avoid a very large cruise liner, as did much of the fleet.

And you will also see a set of photos on our ‘Performance Boating Sales Facebook page.

The next event is in January on Saturday the 19th, also out of Middle Harbour Yacht Club, so let’s see if we can crack an entry of 20 yachts for another day of fun.
