This MBD 41 was built by Norman Wright in Brisbane and launched in 1994 as a very competitive IMS offshore racer, finishing 5th overall in the 1996 Sydney to Hobart. In 2004 she was upgraded for IRC racing with an all new swept back spreader fractional rig, additional lead bulb for improved stability and speed. She is now an optimised IRC and AMS Club racer with a strong offshore history.
This yacht is an ideal low cost platform for fast club racing or as an entry level offshore racer without breaking the bank. Her equipment is top quality including Harken deck gear, Andersen stainless steel winches and Brookes and Gatehouse electronics including GPS and autopilot. Recent upgrades include a new Icom HF radio and a new 10 person life raft (due for first service) She has an extensive wardrobe of sails and a recent new and lightly used mainsail and medium jib have further enhanced her performance.
Well equipped and easy to sail, this MBD 41 presents an ideal opportunity to get in to competitive racing for a minimal outlay. Find a partner to share your ownership and further reduce your outlay and running costs.
